ALABAMA STRONG

BSMC ALABAMA MOTHER

Frederick “Solo” Styles and Alex “Iceman” Harrison started the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Alabama in March 2005; prior to establishing the Alabama chapter and while serving as an active duty military service member Solo was a Member-at-Large in Huntsville, AL from the Buffalo Soldiers Georgia Mother chapter.
Solo and Iceman met during a motorcycle safety course held at the Rocket City Harley Davidson. Iceman was interested in meeting Solo when he noticed the Buffalo Soldiers colors he was wearing. Solo gave Iceman the history of the Buffalo Soldiers and the history of the motorcycle club.
Iceman expressed his interest in becoming a Soldier; Solo realized that Huntsville would be an ideal place to start a chapter. After thoughtful consideration and speaking with his older brother Frank “Renegade” Styles, founder of the Buffalo Soldiers Georgia Mother chapter, Solo petitioned the Board of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club (N.A.B.S.M.C.) and requested approval to start a chapter in Huntsville, Alabama. The petition was put to a vote by the N.A.B.S.M.C. and received a 100% endorsement in support of Solo forming the first Buffalo Soldier chapter in Alabama.
Solo and Iceman stood before the N.A.B.S.M.C. at the summer meeting in New Jersey, at which time the chapter was officially recorded as a chapter of the N.A.B.S.M.C. The chapter’s first board of officers was Frederick “Solo” Styles Founder and President, Alex “Iceman” Harrison Vice President, Frederick “Six-Fifty” McCallum Secretary, Eze “Mogas” Abuwali Treasurer, and Leroy “Hump” Harris” as Chaplain.
